The PCT is ‘kind of like Christmas every day’

When you walk a little more than 300 miles in 15 days, you have plenty of time to think.

On Saturday, Peanut recorded some of those thoughts in a video that has been posted to her YouTube channel.

“The PCT gives you a different present every day,” Peanut said, likening her experience to a 2,600-mile stretch of Christmas mornings. “It can be majestic views or an awesome cold stream when you’re really thirsty. Or you’re meeting awesome people from all over the world.”

But, she said in the video, the PCT also hands out lumps of coal on occasion.

“It can give you some crappy presents,” she said, “almost like getting a bag of socks for Christmas: blistered, nasty feet; a sleepless night; or no water for a long time.”

All of that was a lead-up to her closing shot, one of the good gifts the trail bestows. Find it on her YouTube channel here.
